Make new contacts – broaden your horizons
The Sportbuddy program is a collaborative project between the Centre for University Sport (ZfH) and the Professional Skills Development Office (KoPro). The aim of the project is to connect international students at the University of Osnabrück with local students through their sporting interests. Following a matching phase, organised accompanying events and sporting activities – in addition to regular, self-organised sports meet-ups – are intended to increase the commitment and appeal of the program, which runs throughout the semester, for participants. As the program is conceptually linked to the OSKA+ Mentoring scheme, the Sportbuddy Program is generally designed to run for two semesters; however, participation for just one semester is also possible.

The benefit for you: Make friends quickly! Get past the initial settling-in phase in Osnabrück and become part of the university community through sport. Our sports buddies will help you feel at home.
What we offer: Targeted matching based on sporting interests, self-organised meet-ups with your sports buddy, sporting socials and events throughout the semester.
Interested? Then simply come along to our information session on 29 October 2026 at 2.00 pm at the Sports Centre (Jahnstr. 75) or get in touch with our project team by email.
Your benefit: More than just a contact! Gain from intercultural experience, improve your language skills and gain fascinating insights – ideal for your CV or future stays abroad.
Your role: Be a committed sports buddy who shows others new ways. Meet up regularly with your international buddy to do sport.
